When Picasso and Braque started to stick paper on canvas, they provoked a radical renewal of painting. According to Picasso, one should not imitate life, but work like life. The Collage technique is appropriated to capture life in its complexity: introducing foreign materials into painting means to confront different actualities.

Each picture establishes a relation to the world that should be mobilised in order to reflect actuality. The contemporary epoch with its development of media and new numeric technologies is characterised by an overproduction of images. In the midst of this visual invasion the collage is an invitation to active perception which embraces intellect and emotion. The work is based on four intersecting subjects: light, cultural interaction and the link between fragment and totality.
